Small Smelly Room with a Beautiful View
The location is unbeatable. Located right in the heart of the town centre in Strahan, walking distance to everything, however this accommodation does have some draw backs. The rooms facing the river are located on the main street which is noisy. The rooms that are located closest to the towns shops smell of food, so if you are sensitive to smells you will be put off. If you are unfortunate to have room 1119 you will have a small, noisy and smelly room, but the view is beautiful. The rooms are on the extremely small size, so much so that the bed in the room is on an angle with only one useable bedside table and when you lie in bed your head is right in the corner or the room and the bathrooms are the smallest that I have ever experienced in my life, you can only have one person in the bathroom at a time and you have the toilet, shower and hand basin crammed into the smallest space. Our toilet was weird, the toilet lid would not stay up by itself, if you are a male you will have to keep the lid held open with your foot or spare hand and if you are a lady you will need to support the toilet lid with your body – really this is unacceptable. Good quality toiletries. The room has the basics, but nothing notable or outstanding. There is no room safe and there is no air conditioning in the room. So if you decided to stay at the Strahan Village, I would recommend you take Blu-tac to hold up the toilet seat lid, air fresher spray as the room smells of old and food smells and ear plugs to block out the noise.
